How to Show Your My Hero Apparel Some Love

You’ve got great taste! Because we use high-quality Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing, your new perfect brown apparel features incredibly detailed, soft-to-the-touch graphics. Since DTG inks bind directly into the fabric fibers, they need just a little extra care to stay vibrant. Follow these simple steps to keep your gear looking brand new:

📦 Fresh Out of the Box? Read This First! 

The "New Shirt" Smell: When you first unbox your tee or hoodie, you might notice a slight vinegar-like scent or a faint square residue around the print. Don't worry—this is just a harmless "pretreatment" solution used to lock the inks into the fabric. It will disappear completely after the very first wash!

🧼 The Wash Cycle   

Flip it inside out: Always turn your garments inside out before washing. This protects the print from rubbing against other clothes and zippers.

Keep it cold: Wash with cold water (30°C or below). Warm or hot water will fade water-based DTG inks quickly.

Mild detergent only: Use a standard, mild detergent. Skip the fabric softeners and bleach, as they can break down the ink bond. 

Gentle cycle: Stick to a gentle or normal wash cycle.

 

💨 The Drying Game

Hang dry is king: The absolute best way to care for DTG prints is to hang them up or lay them flat to air dry. It completely avoids heat damage.

Dryer settings: If you must use a dryer, tumble dry on the lowest possible heat setting or air-fluff.

 

 Ironing Tips

Never iron the print: If the shirt gets wrinkled, iron it inside out on low heat, or throw a thin cloth over the graphic before pressing. Direct iron heat will melt the inks.
