My thoughts:
As much as I was glad to see this one show up on Netflix after hearing about it awhile before it was actually released I was a little disappointed on this one. The story was interesting, it had a very pleasant surprise early on and it features Astro whom of which I've been a fan of since he was a kid featured on music competition show The X Factor (google it!) The vibe of this movie is kinda different and I believe it could be due to the main characters being kids yet the main terms of the story are very adult so it puts the movie in a weird space (too kiddie for adults and a little too adult for kids.)
Even though I wasn't a fan of this one, I do appreciate that this movie exists (How many time travel movies do we have staring to two African American teenagers? The answer is NONE!) Spike Lee has a producing credit and that may have played into me expecting more from this one. Check it out if you are note feeling judgy and you find the premise interesting. J
